Frequently Asked Questions about Holistic Health Coaching…

Is this medical treatment/Functional Medicine?

No. This service does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, nor does it look at specific symptoms or lab results as a primary information source to guide the client. It complements medical care by supporting lifestyle, awareness, stress management, and foundational health habits.

Is this right for me if I feel stuck, tired, or unsure where to focus?

Yes. That’s exactly who this is for.

Many people aren’t lacking effort — they’re lacking clarity. Holistic Health Coaching helps you step back, assess what’s really going on, and identify the few changes that will make the biggest difference right now.

If you feel overwhelmed, plateaued, or constantly restarting, this process gives you direction.

Is this personal training?

No, but it is personal coaching. Personal training often focuses on exercise programming and movement execution, with some nutrition advice. Holistic Health Coaching, however, focuses on whole-person health — not just workouts. This is personal coaching for the individual to create a healthy, flexible, stable, energetic body, and simple movement and exercise programming may be included.

Is this different from personal training or a nutrition plan?

Yes — it’s very different.

Instead of giving you a fixed program, this approach looks at the whole person — your stress, sleep, lifestyle, goals, recovery, movement, and life demands.
You don’t just get instructions. You gain understanding, context, and a plan that fits your real life.

Is this Life Coaching?

No. This is practical and grounded in established foundational human health principles. The holistic nature of the coaching approach means that one’s life goals, stressors, and purpose will form part of the discussion — especially to guide the development of core health values — but the coaching itself is not “life coaching.”

Will I get a clear action plan — not just conversation?

Yes.

Every client walks away with a personalised and practical “Holistic Health action plan” based on a structured assessment.

You’ll know:

  •  What to prioritise relative to your health or performance goals
  •  Practical steps to increase your energy and reduce stress
  •  Your unique focus area for building a healthier, stronger foundation
  •  Insights into what is most impacting your health right now

Clarity is the first outcome. Momentum follows.

Do I need to be injured or unwell to benefit from Holistic Health Coaching?

No. Many clients are proactive, high-functioning individuals who want clarity, resilience, or better performance. The foundations for health that help an unwell person improve are the same foundations that help an elite athlete perform better. We are all humans first.

Can this work even if I’ve tried lots of things before?

Yes. Especially then.

Most people have tried “doing more.” What’s often missing is understanding what actually matters for them.
This process filters the noise, identifies leverage points, and helps you build health from strong foundations — rather than jumping between strategies.

It’s easy to do 10 different random things that each make a 1% difference, but Holistic Health Coaching helps you identify the 1–2 things that make the most impact for you (and probably account for 80% of your health)

Do I have to start with the Holistic Health Foundations assessment (HHFA) if I already know I want further coaching?

Ideally yes, mainly to help both you and the coach determine whether further coaching is necessary. The HHFA provides essential context and assessment. A client can opt to move straight into more involved coaching with HHPC, and in that case, the HHFA process will be blended into the early weeks of coaching. Please note that if you have completed the HHFA within the last 6 months, that fee is deducted from HHPC.

How much contact is there between sessions?

Clients are encouraged to check in regularly and keep the coach informed of their progress and any issues or concerns.

Voice/text support is available, primarily during business hours. This is guidance, support, and accountability — not on-demand access. This is a key part of Holistic Health Coaching and a unique feature that helps each client make consistent progress without having to wait until the next appointment to adjust or clarify.

What if medical or psychological issues arise?

Clients are referred to appropriate healthcare providers when needed. Collaboration with healthcare professionals is encouraged.

This is important information to share with your coach during the intake process or at any point during coaching. Health issues can be an opportunity to better understand your body and adjust your plan to keep you on track.

Does holistic mean “woo-woo” or spiritual?

Not exactly. The approach is structured, science-informed, and grounded in physiology — with respect for the full human experience, including the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life.

A healthy body supports a healthy mind; a healthy mind supports emotional balance; emotional balance supports a clearer spiritual experience or sense of purpose. This understanding is certainly woven into the holistic health framework in a grounded and practical way.

Who is this not suitable for?

Holistic Health Coaching is suitable for anyone with a genuine desire to improve their health from the inside out. However, here are some considerations:

-Acute mental health crises - It’s important for the client to have the mental space and focus to prioritise their health on a daily basis. Discuss your situation with your coach or send an email to enquire.

-Clients seeking quick fixes without engagement - Holistic Health Coaching is focused on deeper, internal transformation. While many clients experience “lightbulb moments” and quick results in certain areas, this approach requires a genuine commitment to improving your health long term.

-Minors without parental involvement - Children are an important part of our society, and their health is under increasing pressure. Minors are welcome to receive coaching, but this requires the involvement of a parent or caregiver.
